The Most Unique Restaurant in Melbourne, Florida

The Most Unique Restaurant in Melbourne, Florida

There are plenty of places where we expect to find trucks, vans, and campers. Namely, in garages, at campsites, and on the road. You know — where vehicles do vehicle things.

But in a restaurant? That was a new one for me.

A few weeks ago, my husband and I tried out Nomads Canteen, which recently opened in the Eau Gallie Arts District. Not only did they restore this cool old building to expose its original bricks, but they somehow placed multiple vintage trucks, vans, and campers inside the restaurant.

Nomads Canteen has the most unique feel to it. It’s super artsy, quirky, and fun, which fits the EGAD area perfectly. The walls feature retro artwork, created by a local artist named Derek Gores. His pieces use old newspapers and magazines, presenting a fascinating and eclectic style. I had such a blast just taking it all in.

One of my favorite things about this restaurant is that there are lots of seating options, including inside, outside, and upstairs. That means wait times are short (if they exist at all)! They also feature live music on certain weekends, which I love. Live music turns dining into an *experience,* don’t you think?

And speaking of dining, I should probably mention the menu. We tried the quesadilla and guacamole, and both were excellent, but they also have tons of poké bowls, salads, tacos, and low-carb options. It’s a great place for the whole family! I’m excited to bring my kids next time. They’re going to love all the old trucks.

Seriously, what a fun, unique addition to EGAD! If you’re in the Melbourne area, definitely go check it out.
